Ensemble and Group Lessons
The musical skills learned by playing in an ensemble are very different than those acquired by playing solo. At MMS, we believe the experience of playing together with other musicians is unique. The ultimate goal is to create musicians who are able to collaborate together, while respecting each other’s individualities. For young children, ensemble education will go beyond music, helping the child learn to work in group and gain self-confidence.
Students need to meet certain requirements before entering an ensemble
• Private study on the instrument for one year;
• Some note reading ability. For strings, students should know how to read in the first position, for instance.
• Identify and play basic rhythms, including half, quarter and eighth notes, and their equivalent rests.
We will start ensemble classes as soon as we have enough students. If you are interested, please send us an e-mail with your contact information.
